Behind The Scenes with London Bride – An MC Motors Wedding

London Bride MC Motors Wedding - Caught The Light Photography

2014 was a pretty crazy summer for London Bride on the wedding planning side, but now I am in more calmer waters playing post wedding season catch up I have something quite exciting to share with you! Below is a ‘Behind The Scenes with London Bride’ video filmed at one of my favourite weddings of the year in July for my couple Crisa and Gareth and their MC Motors wedding. It’s one of my favourite venues to work at (no surprises there) and with a beautiful brief to work to, the styling of the day all came together perfectly and we bought a little bit of the Mediterranean to East London. It was a fabulous day, thanks to an amazing team of hard-working and talented suppliers who we bought on board to make it all possible.

I think *sometimes* people assume as a wedding planner, I have a glamorous job, but I hope this behind the scenes video acts as a bit of insight into how much hard work goes into the set up of a wedding (not to mention all the meetings, emails and months and months of planning beforehand of course!), and how it is all bought together on the day by everyone involved. The wedding world is full of ‘Pinterest-perfect’ inspiration and ‘editorially’ styled shoots but I wanted to show the reality of a real-life wedding day as it actually happens!

Huge thanks to Castle Gibson and all the suppliers (please see credits below) for kindly letting me film them, and of course to Crisa and Gareth and all their wonderful friends and family. Hope you enjoy the film, worth watching with the music up!

Disclaimer: I  have a very hands-on approach to the weddings I plan, so would like to excuse my dishevelled appearance, but I’d like to think that no-one would look particularly great on a 16 hour day on their feet in July, in wedding season. So this is reality here folks, as it happens – it’s not about looking glamorous and not getting your hands dirty, it’s about getting things done!

  • Fiona Kelly

Love seeing behind the scenes stuff for real weddings. Even after working on shoots it still wows me how much work goes into creating such beautiful spaces.

    • Charley | London Bride

Thanks Fiona, think it’s important to show a ‘real’ wedding set up!

  • Katy Star

Wow – I LOVE the table set up!! I have a dry hire London venue and trying to figure out which tables to hire – round or banquet and this has swayed me!!!… How many people did this seat and how many on the top table? Also, do you know what size the tables were? Thanks so much for any help you can give! x

    • Charley | London Bride

Hi Katy, so pleased you liked the table styling. A 6ft trestle seats 6 people (plus can seat 2 on the ends). There were 100 guests at this wedding. Hope that helps.

      • Katy Star

Thanks so much! Did you have 2 x tables across the top? Are there any hire companies you would recommend? I also have Venue envy…. xx

  • Loved the video! Images, music, atmosphere .. everything match together so well! I adore this set up style for the weddings!

  • Louise Mccartney

Hi – I love this, quick question – where did the couple have the ceremony or can this be done in the same venue? Louise

    • Charley | London Bride

Hi Louise, they had a small civil ceremony at a registry office (most couples go to Islington, Stoke Newington or Hackney). However I have heard that MC Motors is no longer available for weddings I’m afraid to say!

      • Louise Mccartney

Hi! Thanks for getting back to me. Oh no that’s such a shame such a unique venue! Don’t suppose you know of anything with a similar vibe around London? Xx
