A bride in Rosa Clara, blush pink details for a playful Peckham wedding.
Magda and Lee had a summery pretty, Peckham wedding in August this year with their ceremony at The Asylum Chapel and a reception in a nearby pub. Playful details with balloons and tissue paper garlands along with blush pink flowers and an utterly delicious looking ‘naked’ cake made this day fun and relaxed for this Polish bride and her groom!
In a truly modern style we met on a dating website and haven’t looked back since the first date! We truly found our perfect Match! Three years and one to-die-for salt-baked-seabass later, Lee popped a question at ECC in Ibiza!!
URBAN LONDON WEDDING
We decided that we would get married at the stunning Asylum in Peckham and then looked at a variety of options for a reception venue in London. We discovered the pub for our reception, The Clayton Arms which was just walking distance from the ceremony venue. It matched Asylum perfectly; the ground floor was dark, had a huge disco ball, plenty of blackboard space and exposed brickwork. The top floor was shabby chic and had a very relaxed feel. Both floors had lots of space for us to decorate and make it our own.
ROSA CLARA DRESS
I was open minded when it came to finding a dress and the team at Golden Sash in Fulham were fantastic at helping me to make the decision. I decided on ‘Valeri’ from Rosa Clara as I felt it suited my figure, had subtle elegance and lovely beaded details with scalloped V-neck and low back.
I also felt I could move around in the dress, it wasn’t too heavy and it was also important that it suited our ceremony venue. I choose sparkly Kurt Geiger heels, which were the perfect high and they created a subtle contrast against the dress. I couldn’t decide which one to pick so I wore both a tulle cathedral veil and a beautiful head piece from Paula Carter’s Etsy shop.
I wanted my bridesmaids to look similar but I didn’t want them to be all identical. ASOS had a huge selection so I plumped for blush pink colour dress in two different lengths. Each of my bridesmaids picked their own hairstyle so they could keep their own individual style.
PLAYFUL & PINK
Our wedding décor reflected our personal style. We wanted it to be elegant and to match the modest setting. The colour theme was based around navy, blush pink, white and gold. We decorated the reception venue with hand-made tassel bunting (lots of hours went into these), pom poms and giant balloons.
Flowers were beautifully arranged by a good friend Vicky Barrett and matched the colour theme and the venue.
Our beautiful invites were designed by our friend, Sophie from Deer Stationer who is now almost fluent in Polish thanks to all the translations required for my family!
After the ceremony we had Prosecco reception with canapés just outside of the Asylum followed by three course wedding breakfast at Clayton Arms. Megan from Blossom and Crumb created our cake. In line with keeping things simple we asked for a semi naked 3 tiered white iced cake. Our florist provided some flowers to decorate. We had one tier of lemon drizzle, salted caramel and London fog which was absolutely delicious. The “Drive” blackboard designs were courtesy of staff at the Clayon Arms. We loved them!
The whole day was captured impeccably by Samie Lee. We loved having Samie photograph us. She was brilliant from start to finish and the pictures show just how talented she is.
