If you are planning a wedding for next year, or have just got engaged, Autumn is the perfect time to get back into wed-min mode after a bit of a summer break, and this October is the return of the brilliant Brides The Show which will be once again taking place in Islington, London from Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th October, see end of post for full details.
Even more fun is I’m thrilled to announce on the Saturday, I will be joining fellow blogger Karen from the fabulous Smashing The Glass to chat ‘On The Sofa’ about ‘What to stay in control of and what to leave to others on your big day’ so would love to meet some of you there!
London Bride readers receive 2 for 1 on tickets!
Brides The Show stands apart from other wedding fairs as it really does have an amazing array of both content, inspiration and of course exhibitors. It’s a feast on the wedding senses and definitely all part of the wedding planning experience (the fun bit, anyway!).
One of my favourite themes that just keeps getting stronger and stronger is Modern Metallics, inspired by just some of the curated 130 designers and companies such as florists, shoes, cakes and stationery, here’s a a few of my favourite metallic-detailed picks!
1. Vera Wang for Wedgwood Toasting Flutes 2. Bobbi Brown Bronze Shimmer Brick 3. Bespoke Cake Design by Daisy Cakes 4. Rose Gold Wedding Invitations by Eagle Eyed Bride 5. Gold Floral Hairpiece by Lila 6. Beaded Dress by Charlotte Simpson 7. Empire Shoes by Freya Rose 8. Bond Bridesmaid Dress by Maids 2 Measure
If you’re a fashion loving bride it’s definitely the place for you because there will be some incredible bridal designers at the show giving you a chance to have a look through all the gorgeous dresses in one place. Whether you are after minimalist, fashion-forward, romantic or classic, joining the line-up of British and international designers this year will be Amanda Wakeley, Halfpenny London, Catherine Deane, Ian Stuart, Stephanie Allin, Sassi Holford, Naomi Neoh, Charlie Brear and Suzanne Neville. Five daily catwalk shows will deliver more incredible dresses than any other year.
Whilst the fashion is of course the fun bit, if you’re at the start of the planning there are plenty of key experts you can meet from venues, honeymoon experts, photographers and caterers so you may come away having kick-started your big to-do list!
DATE NIGHT PREVIEW
There will be a Friday evening preview night (which London Bride will be attending!) so will be an exciting event as Jenny Packham will be showcasing her hotly anticipated 2016 NY Bridal Week catwalk show, including dresses designed exclusively for Brides The Show and you can even meet Kate and Wills wedding photographer, Hugo Bernand or talk Groom style with GQ’s Nick Carvell all whilst indulging in a glass of Nyetimber Sparkling wine!
Away from the catwalk, brides-to-be can enjoy a series of hands-on DIY workshops in the Imagination Room where award-winning florist Zita Elze will help create wearable flowers and stationers Eagle Eyed Bride, will show how to design a luxurious table plan. Also new this year is luxury patisserie Joakim Prat from Maître Choux who will show brides how to decorate their own éclairs, as well as an exclusive showcase of some of Brides most popular DIY projects.
‘There simply is no other bridal show that can rival Brides The Show,’ says Jade Beer, Editor of Brides magazine. ‘The designers we attract, the quality of all our hand-picked exhibitors, the range of activities we offer brides-to-be and the sheer number of high spending brides that come to see us far outweighs anything else on offer. If you’re getting married anytime soon why wouldn’t you come?’
The Show’s ‘On the Sofa’ area will give visitors direct access to the Brides team who will host a series of talks with the industry’s most creative names including designer Amanda Wakeley, GQ’s online fashion editor Nick Carvell and Hannah Martin, global pro make-up artist for Bobbi Brown.
The new Dream Destinations feature is a dedicated travel zone where brides can meet the best UK and international honeymoon experts, then stop for a manicure and shop for honeymoon fashion.
