From A-z // styling for Alphabet Bags

As  you may already be well aware, as well as this here blog I am a wedding planner and stylist – which means that, well – I have my fingers in many pies! I therefore absolutely love it when I get to combine my skills and passions, so when the adorable and hardworking husband and wife duo Hayley and Lucas from Alphabet Bags got in touch about the opportunity of co-ordinating and styling their photo shoots for their collections and new website – the answer was of course a big YES!

The Wedding Collection / Alphabet Bags

I just wanted to share with you some of the images from these shoots [there were quite a few, turns out working with the alphabet means there's lots of products!] to not only showcase the styling work I do, but also their gorgeous products and the stunning photography from the fabulous Fanni Williams, who you may also know as the creative director behind our joint venture, Dashing Magazine.

I was already a fan of the Alphabet Bag products [naturally I had the ampersand bag, but will fully admit this collection has now grown ten-fold!] and even more so as they launched the fantastic wedding tote collection and more recently the cute purses and amazing collaboration with artist Rob Ryan. See, these chaps are unstoppable aren’t they!

I love working with talented wedding and lifestyle brands who have great products or offer a stylish service, so if you are interested in having a helping hand with photo shoots, product shoots or styling then do get in touch!

Thanks again to the fabulous team behind these shoots, was great to work with you all!

New! Etsy Weddings & Gift Registry

Posted by & filed under Decoration + Details, Design & Inspiration, Gifts, Shopping.

I know it must seem us bloggers get paid commission to bang on about Etsy but we can’t help it (and no, we don’t in case you are wondering). It just really is such a brilliant resource, I often use it to find unique items, hand made or crafted gifts and fun treasures and it’s so nice to know you are supporting individuals, small business and crafters around the world too. It’s especially useful for brides planning their wedding – where you can trawl through millions of items in search for creative decor, invitations, accessories, clothing or gifts and now… it’s just got a whole lot better!

Not only does it have a dedicated wedding site (whoop!) making it easier to search, it also features stories & advice, wedding ‘how to’s’ and the latest trends and now you are able to create your very own Etsy Gift Registry for your big day – which of course I started out, purely in the name of research you understand (uh-oh!).

There are only a limited amount of options for gift lists these days, so if you are looking for really lovely handmade items, or one off pieces then this should be where you need to sign up – so many great things for the home! You can always offer this in conjunction with a honeymoon list or similar.

Just worth pointing out that (as seems the story of my life) – a lot of what I like comes from the states, which although is easy enough to be delivered, you do often get stung with customs duty (grrr) so top tip is to search using the toolbar on to ‘shop local’ and enter your country or town which enables you to support your local Etsy businesses and not get charged additional customs duty.

a treat for your sweet – a valentine’s gift guide

Posted by & filed under Gifts.

As much as I love a bunch of flowers, or a box of chocolates, they aren’t really the most thoughtful of Valentine’s gifts to give the love of your life are they? So instead I’ve put together a selection of more brownie point earning, well designed and non-tacky gift ideas, which you can clearly pass off as your own! Oh and M if you are reading this? Mine will be the Shanna Murray decal puhlease!

1. A little bit kitsch but it’s time for love with this Tattly Love Watch temporary tattoo!
2. What’s not to LOVE about this print from Keep Calm Gallery?
3. We can’t afford a Tracy Emin original, but you could afford a Kiss Neon Light.
4. I’m a lucky owner of one of these ceramic love rings, so dainty, so cute!
5. Shanna Murray decal from Bodie and Fou, stick on a mirror for a little love message.
6. Totally, For Like Ever this print by Super Rural is a modern classic.
7. A not so subtle message, but put this cute rug by your bedroom door just to make them feel guilty.

What are you doing for Valentine’s? Do you even celebrate it?

Tote-ally Perfect – Pretty Wedding Tote Bags

Posted by & filed under Accessories, Bridesmaid, Gifts, Hen Inspiration.

If you are a regular visitor to this blog, you’ll know I’m a touch obsessed with the alphabet, letters and symbols, so imagine my utter excitement when lovely A-Z gurus, Hayley and Lucas from Alphabet Bags sent me a sneak preview of their brand NEW wedding tote collection. I had to fight the urge to order them all there and then…
Wedding totes have been popular in the states for a while, and I’ve certainly incorporated them a number of times into weddings and hen parties, as let’s face it – a girl can never have too many tote bags [for mags, shoes, secret purchases etc].
They are especially fun for an engagement present, bridesmaid or hen party gifts or just to treat yourself for honeymoon!
Aren’t they just the cutest! Can you guess which one I just HAD to snap up!?
Each hand drawn and screen printed tote is £12.00 however if you are interested in ordering 10 or more then do contact them as they offer a special wedding discount. Oh and in case you are reading this from outside the UK they do ship worldwide.
Visit www.alphabetbags.com to see the full range and to purchase. Credit cards at the ready, which is your favourite?
