London Bride Loves…

Posted by & filed under Decoration + Details, London Bride Loves, Music + Entertainment, Pretty Paper.

Having followed a bride to be named ‘Cloggins’ on twitter throughout her wedding planning, I got drawn into tales of her wedding, chapter by chapter as she posted them on her blog over a year ago. She had such a wonderful way with words and it was as if I was immersed into a good book reading her story. Since then, now a wife, this talented lady has in fact turned her love of literature into a business – and a very unique one at that.  I’m now very proud to introduce her as a sponsor of London Bride.

Emma Woodhouse is ‘The Wedding Reporter‘ – an entirely new concept, she attends a wedding, soaks up the atmosphere, chats to guests and produces creative, non-fiction accounts straight from the matrimonial frontline, capturing them in a bespoke physical, hardback story for you to keep. All sounds rather Jane Austen doesn’t it? Well, if your wedding day isn’t a romance story then I don’t know what is and having witnessed this lady at work, she really is the best person for the job.

Here is an excerpt from the beautiful Emily & Stef’s wedding which in fact, is a wedding I attended and co-ordinated on the day…

“And then suddenly there she was. The crowd raised themselves up on to their knees; half-stood; leant over each other to catch a glimpse of the bride emerging from a retro silver Mercedes. Behind a bouquet bursting with summery blooms stood a bride in vintage lace, surrounded by bridesmaids in the sweetest floral print dresses. Coos and sighs whistled through the crowd as they reassembled on their blankets, content with their first glimpse.”

This is just a taster, you can soak up plenty more Wedding Report examples across in her library.

As a planner, I’ve seen wedding days go by in a whirlwind, and all too often events of the day can simply pass you by, so this is a lovely layer to add to your photographs to create even more memories.

Jump For Joy – Wedding Bouncy Castle

The more and more weddings I attend, the more and more slightly less interesting the champagne reception gets. Of course I love the quaffing of the Prosecco, and it’s great for when you know lots of people to chat to but sometimes it can feel loooong.  Well here’s just the thing to entertain your guests… A bouncy castle, and not just any bouncy castle… a white and blue ‘wedding’ one AND it’s great for both the big kid in us and well, for small children too if you have them.

Yup, this bouncy castle hasn’t got a clowns face on it and isn’t something out of Phoenix Nights – it’s a pretty one, and you can hire it especially for your wedding day! The talented duo behind this creation are recent newlywed’s Caroline and Stuart who work in the set design and construction industry and after making some seriously fun props for their own wedding [which was featured over on Rock N Roll Bride] they have set up their own little business, Vow and Amazed. These guys are super creative and as well as hiring a number of their items that they’ve made, they can also construct something just for you!

Doesn’t it look like SUCH fun! It certainly makes for some great photo opportunities…Oh how this last shot made me chuckle. A mass of skirt and legs! Reminds me of the time I last went on a bouncy castle and *nearly* broke my nose… let’s just say bouncing PRE-prosecco would be my advice…

We Plan, You Play – A Sister Site

Posted by & filed under London Bride, Music + Entertainment.

So for the last few months I have been a busy girl. Yes, I have my job, a blog and I work as a wedding stylist and planner but there was a spare second in the day… so not one to be bored, myself and fellow wedding industry pal, Josie of Savoir Weddings decided that there was a bit of a gap in the market and that we were the girls to do something about it.
We’re pretty huge fans of music and when we’d meet up we’d always end up chatting about this song or that artist and how rare it is to have good music at a wedding. And so… after a few long months of meetings where we drank wine, played with her hamster Susan and occasionally attempted building a WordPress blog – We Plan, You Play was finally born.

We Plan, You Play is a music focussed wedding blog where brides to be can be inspired to create a great, original soundtrack for their wedding day. Whether you are having a band, looking for that non smoochy but meaningful first dance or just want a memorable song to feature on your wedding video We Plan, You Play should point you in the right direction.
Each month we’ll bring you a You Play List* of 25 songs hand picked by us, that we think would get any feet tapping at a wedding. We don’t categorize the songs as we understand one person’s ceremony song is another person’s party tune.
Please do visit the blog – www.weplanyouplay.com – leave a comment or get in touch as we want it to be one big collaborative musicfest so would love to hear your views and ideas for music too.
