Having worked in the wedding industry for over 6 years now, it’s such a pleasure to hear about fresh and exciting launches, especially those in London (obvs!). A couple of weeks ago I was lucky enough to be invited to visit the beautiful new showroom of Otaduy, a Spanish bridal design label who have just launched in London.
Having chatted to the very lovely sisters behind the label (at quite some length, they really are lovely), it’s clear Otaduy which started back in 2011, is no ordinary bridal label, and definitely re-inventing the term ‘bridal’. It’s core values are creativity – heavily inspired by music, cinema and art – and as such this is an indie brand for brides with personality who want to feel like themselves on their wedding day.

RITUAL LOVERS
I viewed the latest collection – Ritual Lovers which is inspired by the Mediterranean spirit, the bucolic of rituals and the magic of the ordinary. OK, so we may not have the mediterranean spirit so much in London, but for all the boho brides, the carefree, relaxed, romantic and modern brides – this is a brand for you. If you are daunted by the wedding dress experience, then head this way ladies – the most wonderfully friendly experience awaits, not to mention the light-filled showroom in an unassuming Victorian terraced building in North London.
The designs are effortless yet captivating, mainly because of the unique fabrics (some of which are made bespoke for the brand); guipure, silk gauzes, beautiful embroidery exclusively developed by the brand all of which I couldn’t help but stroke! Definitely a bit of a signature style was the low backs, and for the fashion forward bride they have a seriously amazing selection of crop tops, t-shirt style combinations with full skirts. My bridal heaven. Here’s the lookbook…
LEATHER & LACE
Oh and the jackets! From a super snuggly faux fur jacket perfect for the coming months to a retro silk bomber jacket with the seriously cute ‘I Do’ embroidered onto the pocket, to one of the most amazing pieces I’ve seen this year – the white lace and leather jacket. Oh my. I tried it on and am seriously considering the purchase, just to have. It’s ridiculously cool and definitely an investment you’ll get future wear out of (and might I add quite affordable at under £400).
THE FILM
With my personal background coming from film and design, I was in love with this beautiful film they produced for the new collection. Just how stunning is this, so inspiring and refreshing from the industry!
