LONDON BRIDE REAL WEDDING // GEMMA + PETER // YOU & YOUR WEDDING MAGAZINE NOV/DEC 13
Last year I worked on one of my favourite weddings to date for a gorgeous and stylish couple Gemma and Peter. I assisted them in bringing their plans to life with a ‘distressed elegance’ brief at the amazing MC Motors venue in East London. The day was photographed by the wonderful Aneta Mak whose film photography is just incredible, so it’s a pleasure to see this wedding in print. The wedding was also featured over on the one and only Style Me Pretty! I’m looking forward to sharing the wedding with you on the blog finally!
LONDON BRIDE REAL WEDDING // EMILY + STEF // MOLLIE MAKES HANDMADE WEDDING SS13
Although it was a couple of years ago now back in 2011, Emily [check out her lovely blog!] and Stef had the most colourful, fun DIY festival wedding. I was there for the weekend to co-ordinate all the suppliers and ensure each gorgeous little detail that Emily had crafted was put in place as the wedding was on a campsite with yurts and tents. They weren’t blessed with the best weather but it didn’t dampen the spirits and it was a beautiful wedding shot by Polly Alexandre. Lovely to see the wedding in print again and all of Emily’s handmade touches!
BLOGGER STYLE // PERFECT WEDDING MAGAZINE // MARCH 2013
I was asked to do a ‘Bloggers Style’ feature for Perfect Wedding Magazine (Issue 79) on the latest bridal trends and as a city loving girl I chose an urban sixties look of a short shift dress, red lips and a touch of glam with the accessories!
SAVVY SAVINGS – HOW TO THROW THE PERFECT PUB WEDDING // YOU & YOUR WEDDING JAN/FEB 13
It’s no secret that as well as having planned a few London pub weddings, I also feature a lot of them on London Bride. They are for the cool, city couple who rather than spending their life savings on a luxurious wedding day want good food, a good atmosphere and a party so I’m a big fan of the London pub wedding myself!
I was pleased to contribute my tips on how to throw the perfect pub wedding in the latest issue of You & Your Wedding, go grab a copy to see my insider tips!
LONDON BRIDE REAL WEDDING // NANCY + ADAM // YOU & YOUR WEDDING NOV/DEC 12
I absolutely loved working with Nancy + Adam on their wedding day in May last year. Their wedding took place in Oxford and was a lovely fresh combination of pretty, traditional and stylish. They had amazing film photographer Polly Alexandre as their photographer and now they have a teeny tiny little Polly of their own! Huge congratulations to them, and thanks to You & Your Wedding for the beautiful feature.
BUDDING IDEAS COLUMN // WEDDING MAGAZINE OCT/NOV 12
Here’s my latest and final ‘budding ideas’ column [too busy!] for Wedding Magazine for their Oct/Nov 12 issue. This column features flowers by Zita Elze and Jay Archer, photography by Shell De Mar, Dasha Caffrey and Caught The Light and accessory by Hope and Grace.
AWARD WINNERS // PERFECT WEDDING MAGAZINE OCT 2012
A nice little mention in the October issue of Perfect Wedding Magazine for London Bride, highly commended as best UK wedding blog!
‘HIGHLY COMMENDED’ BEST WEDDING BLOG // PERFECT WEDDING AWARDS 2012
Initially I was thrilled just to have received a nomination and been selected amongst five other fantastic UK wedding blogs under ‘best wedding blog’ category at the Perfect Wedding Awards 2012, and now I’m over the moon with my runner up position with ‘Highly Commended’ which has just been announced. It’s thanks to everyone who took the time to vote so it’s amazing to know how much support there is out there for London Bride!
After over 3 years of a LOT of hard work building the London Bride blog, business and brand it feels pretty amazing to have this recognition. It’s safe to say I’m a very happy bunny right now and it’s given me the boost to push London Bride even further. Big Thanks x
BUDDING IDEAS COLUMN // WEDDING MAGAZINE AUG/SEPT 12
If you’ve not already got your copy of Wedding Magazine [which is full of loads of gorgeous real weddings and floral inspiration] then make sure you do! My column ‘budding ideas’ features lots of pretty floral inspiration, I’m especially loving baby’s breath in hair, succulents and watercolour floral cakes as you can see!
LAUREN LAVERNE GIVES A SHOUT TO LONDON BRIDE!
Last week was rather exciting, it was a dull Monday morning when I was away from my desk for an hour…I came back to my phone going crazy with tweets from friends and brides about a certain Radio 6 DJ giving a shout out to London Bride! Yes, seriously random but Lauren Laverne tweeted [to her ahem 176K followers] “Got sucked into looking at this site. Quite want to get married again now. london-bride.com“
Firstly have to say a big thank you to those that drew it to my attention, I’ll admit I don’t follow her [oops], but I love her show, love her style and for that I’m quite frankly pretty damn excited that she likes the blog. I obviously [keenly] tweeted her back to thank her and she also replied ” :) If I ever got hitched again…”
Well Lauren if you’re reading, there’s always vow remewal…
ONLINE INSPIRATION // IRISH BRIDES MAGAZINE // JULY 2012
I was very happy to receive an email from Jillian Bolger, editor of Irish Brides magazine who asked me to send in a little bit of information on London Bride for a feature on their favourite blogs! I was thrilled to be among only four fabulous bloggers featured, and so pleased that London Bride is spreading to my friends and readers over in the Emerald Isle! Especially pleased as my best friend from university runs a bridal boutique in Kenmare, Ireland so nice to know I might be in her little shop over there :)
The written article:
WE LOVE – London Bride’s magpie-like ability to showcase the freshest, cutest and most inspiring details. When Charley Beard decided to become a wedding planner she was overwhelmed by the lack of creativity and inspiration in the industry.
She started London Bride as one of the first wedding blogs in the UK, with a view to learning about the wedding business, connecting with talented suppliers and sharing her creative ideas. At the time she worked for a design agency and word quickly spread about her chic blog, which is inspired by fashion, art, music, interiors and London itself.
After a couple of years of blogging she started promoting herself as a wedding planner and stylist; the blog proved a perfect way to connect with creative brides looking for assistance with their wedding. “It’s a great feeling to know you provide inspiration to others and that’s what I hope to continue doing. When blog readers turn into my clients, that’s pretty amazing as I know they share my vision and like what I do.” A self-confessed gadget girl she loves blogging, though admits that it can have downsides too. “Inspiration overload! I’m now a bride-to-be but three years of wedding blogging means I’ve seen so many ideas and weddings that I don’t even know where to start!”
BUDDING IDEAS COLUMN // WEDDING MAGAZINE JUNE/JULY 12
I’ve been working on the blog for three years and things seem to be getting busier and busier, and a big sense of achievement came in the form of being asked by the editor of Wedding Magazine to contribute a regular column feature on floral ideas. Excited? Much? Seeing your name and ideas in print is quite literally a dream come true for a magazine addict like me. You can see the feature in June/July 12 issue and Debbie also very kindly included me in their ‘blog spot’ on the editor’s page, which is so very cool.
I’ll be doing the column on a regular basis so stay tuned for the next one in their August/Sept issue. If you have any floral ideas that you think I could include do get in touch!
DAILY MAIL WEDDING ESSENTIALS SUPPLEMENT // MARCH 12
This was my first article for a tabloid paper, so was great to be invited to write a feature for the ‘Wedding Essentials’ supplement for the Daily Mail in March on wedding day fashion, style and trends – my favourite subject!
STYLED LAVENDER FIELD SHOOT FEATURE // RUFFLED BLOG // MARCH 12
I was really excited to see the lavender field bridal shoot that I put together and styled with photographer Eddie Judd featured on the beautiful pages on one of my favourite US wedding blogs, Ruffled in March 12.
ZANKYOU WINNER // 99 MOST INSPIRATIONAL WEDDING SITES
It was very exciting to be nominated as a finalist in the Zankyou International Wedding Awards for 99 most inspirational wedding blogs and then thanks to all my lovely readers voting, I was announced as a winner!
I was asked to put together a feature for the lovely team over at Wedding Ideas Magazine (issue 106) to help inspire brides about how to personalise their wedding day with unique ideas. There were some lovely little touches and thank you to all the photographers for letting me include their work in the feature!
I was very pleased to work as wedding co-ordinator for photographer Emily Quinton to style and co-ordinate her choc-a-bloc festival style wedding weekend last summer. Their stunning wedding with photography by Polly Alexandre were featured in the Feb/March 12 issue of Wedding Magazine. There were so many lovely diy details to this day and although the weather wasn’t perfect, the sun shone for them during their beautiful humanist outdoor ceremony – phew and these photos radiate so much happiness!
London Bride was very kindly included in the ‘Best of the Rest’ wedding blogs alongside some great company in BRIDES Jan/Feb 12 Issue!
One of my biggest achievements to date was having the lavender inspired bridal shoot that I styled and created with photographer Eddie Judd included in the final issue of Cosmo Bride in October 11. Cosmo Bride was always my favourite bridal publication for it’s fashion forward ideas and style, and so I was over the moon that editor Miranda Eason chose our shoot to be included. You can see the full feature on the blog here – it was a great day full of wonderfully talented industry suppliers that all helped to create the vision we were after.
London Bride was included in Channel 4′s online ‘Best Wedding Blogs‘ / February 2012
After the buzz of the ‘UK Wedding Blogger’s Photoshoot’ Kat also wrote an article for Photo Pro magazine which featured the photoshoot as well!
Kat of Rock N’ Roll Bride brought together a rather fabulous team of us UK wedding bloggers and we all posed for the camera in dresses and accessories by Luella’s Boudoir for a special ‘Wedding Bloggers’ photoshoot. We were lucky to have award winning Lisa Devlin as our photographer and as well as all of us blogging the shoot, we were all thrilled to be featured in a ‘Blogger’s Special in June/July 11 Wedding Magazine.
It’s always nice to be recongnised by bridal publications as wedding bloggers, so I was thrilled to be included in online Wedding Magazine’s ‘Blog of the Week’.
I worked with fun and fabulous couple Paul and Ariel to create a romantic picnic style engagement shoot which was shot by photographer Emily Quinton. We had the sweetest afternoon filled with cherries, gingham and lots of laughter! The shoot was featured in Oct/Nov 10 Issue of You and Your Wedding Magazine’s ‘Bride Candy’ feature!
