Rachel and Bijan were married in July with a beautiful Church service after which they walked as a wedding party through the streets and beautiful London greenery in the sunshine to their relaxed reception in the lovely area of Victoria Park in London, where their love story with London all began. This couple are cute as a button, such completely natural chemistry together which was captured effortlessly by photography team We Heart Pictures…
“From the first day of planning we wanted a day filled with laughter and sunshine; we were lucky enough to have both! We chose Victoria Park in London for the venue of our wedding because this is where our love for London was created.”
Rachel got ready at The Hoxton Hotel with her bridesmaids who all wore their own choice of dress in black which creates the perfect city style. Rachel chose the Davinci dress by Raimon Bundo from the Mirror Mirror boutique in Crouch End. To accessories her ‘boho chic’ dress she wore a cute flower garland in her hair from Blooming Loopy.
“We married at St John of Jerusalem Church, in Victoria Park Village. We filled the church with candles and Bossa Nova sounds whilst I walked down the aisle to Elvis Presley’s Love Letters. As a married couple we walked back up the aisle to the Dixie Cups, Going to the Chapel where we were greeted with confetti and cheering! After the ceremony we greeted all our guests individually and drank Prosecco under the graffiti laden hoarding and white wedding bunting.”
I do adore couples who just go witih the flow on their day, and they chose not to have any itinerary so they took to the streets and walked with their guests from the Church to the reception venue, with a glass of Prosecco in hand of course! “We peraded through Victoria village heading for The Empress where tables filled with wild flowers, crackers and jelly sweets awaited us. The Bossa Nova band continued, the Prosecco and beer flowed and the sun shone through the park.”
We gave three choices of starters, mains and desserts which our guests chosen individually on arrival and we served a selection of wines on the tables. Our cake was a white iced sponge topped with porcelain doves.”
I absolutely love this shot, old fashioned chivalry for the bride and her high heels!
After our lunch filled with wine, food, speeches and laughter we crossed the village and spent the evening partying at The Royal Inn on the Park to the sounds of Van Morrison, Disclosure, The Stones and Ginuwine until the morning crept up on us. One of the most special moments of the day was dancing with my Father as it was our final dance together to our favourite song.
Words of advice from the bride…
“The church was under construction and was not finished for our wedding day. So a friend, who is an artist, stencilled graffiti flowers on to the hoarding and we attached bunting to the scaffolding.”
Huge congratulations to the lovely couple Rachel and Bijan on their fabulously relaxed day and thanks to We Heart Pictures for letting us share their lovely work on London Bride.
