I recently met with designer Sally Lacock and spent WAY too long admiring her dresses on her stand at the recently held National Vintage Wedding Fair. As bloggers it’s very easy for us to post pretty pictures but when you see the dresses in person and meet with the designer it really does cement the connection.

DELICATE, FRESH AND UNASHAMEDLY ROMANTIC
SALLY LACOCK’S NEW BRIDAL COLLECTION STRIKES THE PERFECT BALANCE BETWEEN NOSTALGIA AND MODERNITY

The detail and the beautiful silk and lace fabrics really stood out to me, and her love of vintage shows through the dresses not just in the design but in the craftsmanship as each one is individually handmade in London.

Sally Lacock is a London wedding dress designer known for her beautiful, timeless, lace and silk wedding dresses and excellent bespoke service. All of her commissions are skillfully and individually handmade in London. Inspired primarily by her love of vintage wedding dresses and antique lace Sally’s work is imbued with lightness, delicacy and an attention to detail rarely found in today’s world of mass production. Her creative vision is one of respect for time-honoured skills combined with romantic vintage appeal. Sally’s current collections include her signature vintage inspired wedding dress collection and new bridal separates collection.

Made to measure dresses start at £1950 and as as they make to measure from scratch, all alterations are included.

Steeped in her signature delicate vintage style, Sally Lacock’s new bridal collection is a vibrant, eclectic range of beautifully cut pieces celebrating time-honoured skills and created for the modern discerning bride.

As well as the current collection of vintage inspired made to measure dresses they also have a beautiful bridal separates collection for brides wanting a slightly more flexible vintage style with stunning lace tops, silk blouses and flowing skirts, you can see more here. Separates start at £750 for skirts and £595 for tops.

From a show-stopping liquid silk 1930’s Hollywood inspired gown to the sleek elegant Kimono style floral lace dress the eclectic nature of this collection carries Sally Lacock’s distinctive stamp of enduring timeless style. There are cool ‘70s prairie dresses, perfect for country nuptials, a gently graceful Ballet Russes inspired style with a stunning asymmetric draped skirt artfully knotted at the hem and a slinky dropped waist ‘20s piece with its low back revealing an alluring flash of skin and lace. In contrast to this the playful ‘50s debutante inspired Sylvie dress with yards of tulle and elegant long lace sleeves evokes the socialite portraits of Cecil Beaton and the high necked column shape of the Emmeline exudes an aristocratic opulence.

From the exquisite lace and silks employed in the designs to the exclusive one-of-a-kind accessories she seeks out to compliment her work, Sally’s vision is one of respect for time-honoured skills combined with romantic vintage appeal, resulting in dresses that are imbued with lightness, delicacy and an attention to detail rarely found in today’s world of mass production.
