I’m surprised that I’ve not talked more about perfume on the blog, as for anyone who knows me, knows I’m a total fragrance fanatic! My sense of smell is really quite impressive even if I do say so myself, though living in London I pay the price sometimes. Part of why I like fragrance is that it can immediately take me back to being somewhere, a particular moment, a feeling or an event. It’s therefore no surprise that I’m a huge advocate of scenting your wedding, as one of the most treasured days, you’ll want to be transported back to time and time again, so today I’m looking at how you can do so with Jo Malone including their beautiful new lace bottle collection.
Given there’s a lot to think about in planning a wedding, fragrance may not necessarily be at the top of your list but it is something that I’m certain every bride will think about at some point as part of her overall style of the day. Some of you may choose to wear your everyday perfume, the one you’ve worn since you were 18, so that you have your ‘signature’ scent on the day to feel ‘you’. Others may want to re-create new memories so will be on the look-out for a new perfume to indulge in and to suit the tone of the day. You may even [and this would be me] consider together as bride and groom how you smell as a couple and co-ordinate your fragrances to compliment each other [Mr London Bride’s perfume habit is way worse than mine for the record].
If you are one of the latter or already wear Jo Malone then the new lace bottle collection soon to launch may well pique your interest. There are three different lace bottle designs: two ivory patterns one of which you can see in the photos and one black pattern [for him maybe?] and they will available in the following ten Jo Malone fragrances just to help make it even harder to choose; Pomegranate Noir, Velvet Rose & Oud [my new favourite!], Lime Basil & Mandarin, Wild Bluebell [something blue!], Amber & Ginger Lily [great for him!], Nectarine Blossom & Honey, English Pear & Freesia, and three of the most wedding worthy scents: Peony & Blush Suede, Orange Blossom and Red Roses.
Aren’t the bottles just the prettiest? So timeless and romantic, definitely a keepsake after the wedding and won’t look too bad in your photos either! They’ll look great to display on your dressing table too [tip: though that’s not actually good for the perfume so don’t leave it out too long]!
At the Jo Malone press event, so much pretty!
Jo Malone offer wedding consultations at their boutiques, so you can chat to one of their wedding stylists who will tailor your fragrance for your wedding listening to your likes and preferences with scent. Whether it’s Fragrance Combining of their scents [which I tested and loved the results], to create something a little more unique or discussing how to layer your fragrance such as bath oil, lotion then perfume or perhaps to use scented candles to add a subtle fragrance to your ceremony they can advise and inspire on all things scented.
Speaking of candles, Jo Malone also offer an engraving service on their cologne bottles, bath oil bottles and candles so if you’re thinking of giving these as a gift to your mum or bridesmaids then the added personal touch with their names or your wedding date is a really fabulous touch!
The Jo Malone Lace Bottle Collection will be available in May at £86 for 100ml Cologne. Would love to hear if you are planning to be a Jo Malone bride or perhaps you were one? I’m now off to light my Peony candle and spritz Red Roses all over me…
