Short + Sweet – Bouffant Veils

AISLE STYLE, Accessories, Bridal Style

I haven’t used the word ‘bouffant’ in years and years, but on researching my new favourite things – short veils I discovered that this is their official title. That makes them even cooler in my book. The ‘bouffant’ style was obviously popular in the 1950’s when short circle dresses were de rigeur. With these dresses hugely popular I’m seeing more and more brides opt for this veil which sits around the shoulders with volume at the top. It does particularly suit the short silouhettes however with a sleek and simple dress it can add a bot of character and romance. especially if it’s textured or a blush colour.

I’m constantly surprised by the ‘to veil or not to veil’ question that many brides ask themselves. I’ve seen three friends who are so not the veil type, walk down the aisle with pretty full on ones – so what I’m trying to say is don’t knock it until you’ve tried it. These days it’s not just about a plain three tier cathedral length veils, there are so many more styles out there and I urge you to give the ‘bouffant’ a go.
