For some reason especially this year, with the majority of my couples when they are planning their stationery they are after something ‘understated’ ‘simple’ ‘modern’ and ‘elegant’ for their wedding. Whilst there is an amazing wedding stationery industry here in the UK, a lot of the designers who offer ‘ready made’ collections, do tend to lean towards something more ‘weddingy’ (whilst that may not be an official term it’s certainly one used a lot amongst my brides!). There is a whole host of designs for those looking for something ‘pretty’ – designs featuring floral patterns, feminine colours, lots of script fonts, delicate illustrations and of course lots of hearts and whilst these are all perfectly lovely, they aren’t quite fitting the bill for those wanting something more understated and simple, and modern.
So, on my research I have found a few lovely pieces that don’t necessarily bring all the bells and whistles but certainly keep it classy. Here are my top 10 picks…
I should say, stationery is such a personal choice and if you have found that you aren’t finding anything that quite floats your boat then a lot of stationery designers offer custom work, or they may be able to adapt their collection designs by tweaking colours and fonts. There are also those who specialise in luxury bespoke design, illustration and calligraphy if you have something very specific in mind or are looking for something that little bit more luxe it’s definitely the way to go to create something truly bespoke for you as the options are endless!
