Back To Front Kings Cross Wedding at St Chad’s and St Pancras

WEDDINGS, Informal, Urban

Photography by LM Weddings

A back to front wedding for Laura and Tom who were married the day before Valentine’s day this year. They celebrated with a family dinner before the ceremony and a big party after in St Pancras, Kings Cross and of course the bride wore two outfits!

St Pancras Kings Cross Wedding by LM Weddings Photography | Flowers The Flower Appreciation Society | Brides Dress Jenny Packham SusannaLaura and Tom tied the knot on 13th February this year (the day before Valentine’s day!) with the wedding taking place at Kings Cross, with a ceremony in St Pancras station and a reception at 06 St Chad’s however it wasn’t a typical wedding day. This couple decided to have it back to front, so had a lovely family lunch before the ceremony and then a party reception for everyone afterwards! The bride wore two outfits for the different parts of the day, and I love her different styles from city to chic.

Whilst it may not be the most practical venue for a ceremony (read more below!) it’s certainly unusual and an amazing iconic place to say that you got married! I love the photo above, looks like a 1940s wedding in the modern day!

Do have a read below of Laura’s wedding planning journey, and if you’re reading this as a ‘just engaged’ bride to be, then definitely take her advice below and bask in all the celebratory glory!

Fresh Dewy Bridal Make Up by Bobbi Brown

Bobbi Brown Bridal

A few weeks ago I was invited to attend the press launch of one of my favourite make up brands, Bobbi Brown and their new and limited edition ‘Luxe’ Collection which is oh-so-perfect for brides to be to create the picture perfect pretty look for the big day, and beyond.

Whilst I know a lot of brides do prefer to enlist the professional services of a make-up artist, for those that are on a budget so hoping to do their own make-up or perhaps just want to have some nice products to change their look in the evening to something a little more sexy/smokey treating yourself to this set is a great purchase and will last you for months to come too. I do also want to point out that if you are looking for tips and advice on how to apply your make-up or create the look you are after, Bobbi Brown do in fact offer FREE consultations at any of their stores so highly worth doing this so you don’t just have all the gear and no idea!

“On your wedding day you should look like yourself at your most beautiful” – Bobbi Brown

Well you can’t argue with that quote and I’m sure it’s one that most make-up artists would definitely agree with when undertaking a trial with a bride to be. I saw top global Bobbi Brown make-up artist Lori Gatto apply a beautiful fresh, dewy look to a model during the press launch and I have to say it looked amazing, even under artificial hotel lighting! The perfect achievement of a beautiful, rosy fresh faced bride – not over the top at all but certainly pretty and illuminating.

Bobbi Brown Luxe Wedding CollectionBobbi Brown Luxe Eye Palette

So here is the Luxe Eye Palette [£49.50*] is beautifully packaged in a simple, chic mirrored casing [total sucker for pretty packaging!] and features six mix-and-match eye shadow shades in varying finishes such as Sparkle, Metallic & Shimmer as well as the must have cream-coloured base shade and the Espresso shade which handily doubles up as an eyeliner too! Whilst I’m not a huge eyeshadow wearer personally, I do have one or two palettes as they are perfect to take away when travelling [as they have mini brushes too] or in your handbag for after work and this is one I’m looking forward to trying out.

Bobbi Brown Luxe Bridal Eye Palette

As for bridal make-up, this palette has everything for that dewy, pretty and natural look but it’s something that will take you beyond the wedding too as the shades are so wearable and classic, here are the shades…

Cream [creamy beige, natural] / Pink Pearl Metallic [light pink/purple] / Pink Opal Shimmer Wash [pearly pale ivory pink] / Pink Lilac Sparkle [silvery pink/purple] / Oyster Grey Metallic [silvery grey] / Espresso [very dark brown].

A must of course for bridal make-up or even guests and bridesmaids is a long-wearing waterproof mascara and the Bobbi Brown ‘No Smudge’ Mascara [£18] is the perfect combination of defining, lengthening and curling for the pretties eyes, despite a few tears! A good tip from Lori was to always wear the blackest black mascara you can and apply a couple of coats, really wiggling up the length of the lashes to ensure each one is coated properly. Careful not to apply too much to your bottom lashes if they are really long as you do get the whole ‘bambi’ look though!

There is also the Luxe Sparkle Powder [£32.40* – hurry not many left!] which is as alluring as it looks! It’s an ultra sheer skin enhancer which brightens up the complexion with a barely-there sparkle. Basically this is how to get that ‘glow’ without going too over the top, yes please!

I wanted to photograph the products first before trying them out and I’m not quite brave enough to show you the results of my own ahem ‘artistry’ but you can see the finished look on the model over on my Instagram feed and thanks to Sophie and the team at Bobbi Brown for the kind invitation along to the launch and tea and of course the products to try! They will be kept in my emergency kit on hand for all my brides, just in case….lucky brides!

You can see more from the Bobbi Brown collections here [I want it ALL!] and do let me know if you are a bride considering doing your own make up, would love to hear your thoughts!
