If you’re a fan of food, florals and boho style, then the Hackney wedding of Khaly and Martin ticks all those boxes and some. A beautiful boho bride, floral bridesmaids, afternoon tea and a dessert table that Mary Berry would be proud of.
I think it goes without saying that Khaly’s bridal style is effortless, boho elegance at it’s finest. The original vintage 70s off the shoulder layered lace gown is relaxed but feminine and with her dark flowing locks, soft metallic eyes and that incredible headpiece by Joanna Reed she looks every inch the perfect boho bride with her dashing groom in blue. Not to mention her girls looking fair maids in their floor length dark floral dresses (from Marks and Spencer’s would you believe, just goes to show keep your mind open!),
The super cool boho chic backdrop of photographic location The Roost in Hackney was not only a local venue for them, but one that complimented this couple’s style perfectly. Ending the night with a DJ dance party in the basement and a pizza van is a pretty good way to see the evening out I say.
Also worth noting to anyone thinking about speeches, and how you imagine they’ll be a few minutes each at the most, as these guys prove, they can go on for over an hour so you might want to keep that in mind! Sounds like they were worth every minute.
Today’s wedding has to be a perfect example of a London wedding! Bride and groom Anna and Dil were married with a Catholic ceremony, followed by a walk down the Southbank with their guests, bubbles and dancing aboard a boat down the Thames, then a hearty British feast followed by late night fun. Bride Anna also chose the most beautifully sparkling Jenny Packham ‘Gemma” tea length gown (one of my favourites!) and bridesmaids in fun Maids To Measure floral print dresses and cheery bright florals from Wild About set the decor off perfectly.
Jen and Tom had a pretty summer Stoke Newington wedding in July last year at Clissold House and The Londesborough pub. Their day was brimming with joy and beautiful touches from the ‘freshly picked from the meadow’ flowers, to the bridesmaids in shades of blue, and of course their dog making an appearance into the day! Jen wore a beautifully simple and elegant dress from Charlie Brear.
Urban and atmospheric wedding with winter brights for couple Jess and Nick’s February celebrations at the elegant yet distressed The Asylum and MC Motors.
It’s actually quite a struggle for me to put together the features on weddings that I’ve planned and been a part of, and for that reason you’ll notice they generally have a lot more images so I can only apologise in advance if this is a lengthy one!
I co-ordinated this urban brights winter wedding earlier in February and it’s taken me quite some time just to edit the images down. Partly because Lee at Robbins Phogoraphic has captured the day in such a way I almost feel like I can’t miss anything out, partly because Jess and Nick are a seriously good looking couple and partly because the day was beautiful – in style and in atmosphere. I’m sure you’ll see my struggle!
Jess and Nick managed to combine so much into their day. It was bright but stylish, informal yet romantic whilst being elegant and urban. Not many couples choose February as a month to marry in, but with colourful wild flowers by Palais Flowers, beautifully worn venues, a cosy atmosphere and all your loved ones together it really could have been any day of the year.
