Tony and Jess were married in August with a meaningful ceremony at the Church just at the end of their road, followed by a relaxed reception at the beautifully unique Petersham Nurseries. This wedding almost looks like the most amazing dinner party. Ever. The romantic setting with the warm summer sky above them from within the glasshouse which is twinkling with lights, encased in foliage, with red wine flowing and live music to entertain. Perfection. It certainly looks like everyone had a good time judging by the images at the end of the night, and the whole day has been fabulously captured by Kat Hill.
“Our vision for the day was to keep the day as relaxed and fun as possible, we chose to keep things local by getting married at in a church the end of our road, with our reception only 10 minutes away from our home at Petersham Nurseries . Our main vision of the day was to ensure all our guests had great fun from start to finish.
The service was very meaningful to us both, we chose a church at the end of our road, and put a lot of thought into it, although we kept the service short and sweet it was very personal with our brother in law playing the organ, Tony’s Uncle singing for us and with a vicar we both came to know very well. It was very emotional and after the service we made a bee-line for the door to get into our car and enjoy a glass of champagne together to calm our nerves before the rest of the day began, it was really nice to have that time out away from everyone to take it all in!
“Petersham nurseries is a stunning location set in a nurseries we had our rose Prosecco cocktails outside around a water feature with jazz trio and a magician which got everyone chatting and laughing. The meal was in the Restaurant, which was decorated with chilli plants and sunflowers everywhere, we chose 2 long tables so that guests could all chat across to each other.
“After dinner we had the speeches followed by a brass band perform classics such as “gangam style” and Britney spears which energized everyone straight after dinner and got everyone dancing. Our evening reception was set in a second greenhouse which was decorated with candles, fairy lights, plants climbing up every wall and mud floors which was breathtaking. It felt like you were in another country and so romantic. We fished the night off with a fab covers band which kept everyone dancing. The fancy dress box got great use and to look around the room seeing everyone in wigs, strange hats and masks, even one of our guests who was 90 got dressed up!
The cake was from Choccywoccydoodah, I fell in love with one I saw online but when we want into the shop it cost the same amount to deisgn your own, I spent 2.5 hours in there with my mum and came up with our creation! It looked absolutely amazing on the day, but in the excitement of everything (and the non stop dancing from everyone) meant that we forgot to cut it and eat it! Luckily we had a family party the next day and we managed to polish it off!
The venue arranged all the food and drink food, everything was incredible with the food so beautifully presented with edible flowers and lots of fresh colours. The venue didn’t have an alcohol licence so it was only wine and beer, we managed to get around this by having Processco cocktails on arrival, and after the meal we moved to Sangria.
The most memorable part of the day was walking down the aisle, I just wanted to be next to Tony and the aisle seemed such a long way, as soon as we stood together I felt relaxed and just wanted to enjoy the day as much as possible. People told us to take in the day as it goes so quickly, and it really really does, The best advice I could give a bride to be is just enjoy every single second and not get too caught up in the smaller details, everything will just click together on the day and anything minor that goes wrong wont even be noticed! We forgot to arrange a first dance so just had to go with the flow on the day!
Thanks to Tony and Jess, and congratulations on their imminent arrival to the family which is due on their anniversary! Thanks also to Kat Hill for sharing her lovely work again.
