Bridesmaids
Two Birds Bridesmaids Dresses

If you have more than a couple of bridesmaids in your girl gang, traipsing around the high street or sending out multiple dresses in a number of sizes via online stores can be a bit of a headache! Two Birds Bridesmaids make life much easier and more fun for you and the girls! There are a number of styles within their collections, but the dress is essentially the same, but can be tied and styled in different ways and in a huge variety of colours – whether you want matching or mis-matching there will be a style to please everyone (well, fingers crossed!).

Maids To Measure Bridesmaid Dresses

Accessories + Shoes
Debbie Carlisle Wild Rose Bridal Acecssories

I’ve personally known designer Debbie from Debbie Carlisle designs for quite a few years now and her bridal accessory collections every year get stronger and stronger. Her new collection ‘Wild Rose’ is ethereal, delicate and just the right amount of sparkle for boho, romantic or classic brides.

Freya Rose Bridal Shoes

One of the UK’s leading shoe designers, Freya Rose bridal shoes encapsulate glamour and luxury in each design. The shoes have the most stunning detailing, and the Freya Rose signature of bejeweled adornments, sumptuous materials and inspiring embroidery make these shoes a work of art and definitely ones to show off! We love the little touch of lace and fashion forward (and comfortable!) ankle tie detail on this pair!

Fashion

This is hard to just pick a few favourites as there are so many amazing bridal fashion designers that you can see more from at the show. There’s also the designer catwalk highlighting the latest trends and designs. However here’s a few we think you’ll want to make a stop by…

Charlotte Simpson Bridal

Many of my own bridal clients seem to want modern minimalist simplicity from a bridal designer, and Charlotte Simpson definitely ticks that box. Simple structures in stunning fabrics but with effortlessly elegant and feminine cuts are perfect for the contemporary and stylish fuss-free bride.

Halfpenny London Bridal

For those wanting effortlessly chic and timeless style with utter romance and sophistication then you can’t miss Halfpenny London. You’ll fall head over heels for the designs from Kate Halfpenny which include incredibly romantic laces, fashion forward fabrics, and feminine silhouettes that fit like a dream. I guarantee you’ll spend a while browsing through the dresses and just daydreaming…

Andrea Hawkes Bridal

Another modern designer is Andrea Hawkes, who welcomes individual ideas to create bespoke dresses for brides based on their collection of gowns. They work with you to either create a made to measure dress or for a one-off fully bespoke gown for those wanting something completely unique. Think luxurious fabrics such as European silks and French laces the dresses are made to a very high standard, which is clear to see in the designs.

Sanyukta Shrestha BridalLondon based Sanyukta Shrestha’s latest collections bring eco-luxe to brides with their luxurious and organic and fair-trade use of fabrics. The new collection is simply stunning with incredibly delicate fabrics and flattering styles that are effortless to wear.

Florists

There are a few highlights of Brides the Show for me. One is the catwalk, two is the cake, and three – it’s the flowers. The efforts of the florists showcasing last year was phenomenal, I spent hours at their stands admiring at their creativity, innovation and every perfect detail. If you haven’t got your florist yet, you’d be hard pushed not to come away from the show without one!

Electric Daisy Farm Flowers

I recently met florist Fiona and was struck by her absolute passion, creativity and joie de vivre! Electric Daisy Flower Farm grows seasonal flowers on their very own farm for use in their floral designs for weddings and events. If you are looking to go for British seasonal flowers Fiona will be able to let you know what flowers you can expect around your wedding date.

Hiding In The City Florist

Last year the stand from Hiding In The City was one of my absolute favourites (see above!). It was like a beautiful jungle, so green, vibrant and creative. I’m very much looking forward to seeing what florist Sarah will be creating this year, it’s bound to be very visually impactful and fun!

Cakes
Georgia's Cakes

Last but not least, the cake! I’m very excited to see Georgia’s Cakes creations up close (here’s hoping there may be samples?!). If you’re looking for something fun, these are playful and creative.

Hope that small snippet round up of some stylish finds at Brides The Show 2016 has helped prepare you for the inspiration you’ll be inundated with (in a good way of course!) and look forward to seeing some of you there.

From Boho to Hollywood Glamour – Debbie Carlisle 2015 Collection

AISLE STYLE, Accessories

Debbie Carlisle 2015 Accessories Collection

When I look at brides in real weddings, sometimes it’s those unique little touches they add that really bring their bridal style to life. Whether it’s a bracelet, a simple hair accessory or a killer pair of shoes. If you’re at the stage of having the dress firmly in the ‘tick’ checklist box then you may be starting to think (and pin!) about your overall look and the finishing touches to your bridal style.

In which case, you’ll definitely be interested in the beautiful 2015 collection from designer Debbie Carlisle. What I love about this collection, is that Debbie has obviously really connected with brides as she offers two distinct styles within the collection whether you are a vintage-loving lady or a relaxed boho bride, there is something for everyone and many versatile ways of wearing each one to suit your style.

The ‘Limelight’ pieces are for those looking for glitz and glamour with their vintage inspired Old Hollywood and Art Deco styles but with an updated modern feel, perfect for adding a touch of sparkle. “All of the Limelight headpieces work well with my existing birdcage veil designs, and I’ve also added a new ‘mask veil’ made from the same soft fine French netting which pins at either side of the head and is a great way to wear a veil with a headpiece which can be easily removed later in the day without having to take off your headband or comb.”

‘Enchanted’ is inspired by the natural world, think woodland, florals and delicate vines, so if you’re after something a little less statement with a relaxed pretty feel there is plenty of choice. Each design is also available in both silver and a particular favourite of mine, a warm antique gold. “Most of the Enchanted designs are wired together with gold or silver plated wire and use intricately carved mother of pearl flowers which gives the pieces a more relaxed and bohemian feel. The silver versions use clear faceted Czech crystals mixed with tiny pale ivory freshwater pearls, while the gold versions use beautiful antique gold faceted Czech crystals which are partly glazed to create a delicate and warm golden shimmer.”

Debbie is also very conscious of offering brides the chance to personalise their style with the way they can wear her pieces. The wired designs are incredibly versatile, whether worn curving around your head like ivy, with an elegant up-do or along with a veil, there are endless ways to wear them and you can see lots of examples on her website here, perfect inspiration!

The Finishing Touches – Top 10 Wedding Accessories

AISLE STYLE, Accessories

It’s been a while since I had the chance to have a look at pretty things and with the rain pouring [and pouring and pouring] down outside what better way to cheer myself up than searching for those pretty little finishing touches that fill my  heart with joy! From elegant heels to delicate garters, sparkling earrings to cute hair accessories sometimes you just need that special something to complete the look.

I’ve basically chosen my top 10 wedding accessories that I believe are just oh so simply pretty. Nothing too outrageously statement, nothing too fashion forward, rather hopefully something that will work alongside many dresses and styles to just add that finishing touch for all those brides searching for that little added extra for their wedding.

London Bride's Top 10 Wedding AccessoriesONE Blue/Grey ‘Talle’ Garter by The Wedding Garter Co / TWO Vintage Floral Chandelier Earrings from Liberty In Love / THREE Leila Gold by Emmy London / FOUR Juliet Comb by Debbie Carlisle / FIVE ‘I Do’ Canvas Pouch by Alphabet Bags

The garter is having a resurgence, so if you don’t have one to borrow why not treat yourself to a beautifully feminine one from the recently launched The Wedding Garter Company, this one could also just about be your something blue? Add instant glamour with these beautiful chandelier earrings which work with well with all styles of dresses. The beautiful gold detailed Leila shoe is one I see brides choosing time and time again, classy and comfortable – what more do you want in a shoe? For those who want to add interest to a half-up do but don’t want to go too ‘princess’ then this beautiful Juliet Comb is sophisticated and just the right amount of sparkle. Believe me, you will need somewhere to put your bits and pieces on the day – tissues, lipstick, mints can all be slipped into this super cute peachy ‘I Do’ pouch.

London Bride's Top 10 Wedding AccessoriesONE Blush Vintage Rose Belt by Emmy London / TWO Vintage Rose Chandelier Earrings from Liberty in Love / THREE Coco Statement Headband by Britten Weddings / FOUR Retro Betty Bow Veil by Couturemango on Etsy / FIVE Chantilly Lace Shoes by Harriet Wilde

Girls in white dresses with pink satin sashes – yes Maria was right these are a few of my favourite things – this pretty sash is a quick and removable way to add interest to a simple gown. If you fancy flirting with a colour but don’t want to go for a blush dress, and a hint of pink with these beautiful vintage style earrings. Now this ‘Coco’ headband is definitely a style statement. Keep hair in a loose up-do for effortless chic or it would also suit a perfectly coiffed set vintage style. Not going to lie, I’m in love with this Betty veil! It’s creamy tone, the bow and the cute length make this perfect for a city bride. Finally, I know you all like a pair of knockout heels, and these my friends are they. The detail of these ‘Chantilly’ lace shoes with ribbon ties are sexy and sophisticated, I can imagine you’ll want to keep these on into the small hours.

Would love to know what accessories you are teaming with your bridal look. To veil or not to veil? Knockout chandelier earrings perhaps just for the evening? Skyscraping heels to twirl in or a simple flower in your hair? There are just so many options out there it’s almost impossible to choose but hopefully this helps inspire for those on the accessories hunt!
