Autumnal Brunswick House Wedding + An Erdem Bride

WEDDINGS, Informal

Brunswick House Wedding London by Emilie White Photography

Seems appropriate to share this one with you today as the clocks have gone back and the evenings are starting to darken but during the day we are delighted with the rich shades of Autumn suppyling us with the dappled light and the beautiful rich spectrum of leaves.  Richard and Rosemary (love the double R!) were married in Autumn last year, and where better to do so in London at that time of year than amongst the leafy surroundings of the WWT London Wetland Centre. They followed this with a laid back, quirky reception at the wonderfully unique Brunswick House by LASSCO (a supplier of beautiful architectural antiques, salvage and curiosity pieces). I also have to mention the lovely Rosemary’s stunning Erdem dress. Please brides, let’s see more non-bridal wedding dresses, they look amazing, no? Photography by Emilie White.

“We didn’t have a particular theme for our wedding but made sure we incorporated our personal interests into the day so that it felt really ‘us’.

In organising the wedding we both knew instantly when we’d found the right things, in particular the venues which reflected us perfectly. Both my engagement ring and Richard’s wedding band are Georgian so it seemed perfect when we found Brunswick House after stopping for lunch there whilst out viewing other possible venues. We enjoy good food and on the day there were amazing seasonal dishes including a trifle people are still talking about!

We are both quite creative so we drew and and handprinted our invitations and name cards. We also commissioned a traditional wedding corn dolly incorporating our initials which now hangs above our bed as a reminder of a brilliant day.”

Trust in your own choices, I didn’t show anyone my dress before I bought it. I also looked at a lot of blogs, if nothing else you will be able to work out what you don’t want.

It may not suit everybody but we found organising our wedding in a short space of time meant we focussed and made decisions easier.”

There were lots of sweet little details such as the knitted cake toppers made by the bride, the bespoke corn dolly with their initials on and I have to say they chose a beautiful piece of music for Rosemary to walk down the aisle to that I’d not heard before, if you need a quiet five minutes, pop this on – Moondog – Pastoral.

“I was so worried about forgetting what to do or say at the ceremony but as soon as I got there it seemed so easy and right, I remember feeling very happy and couldn’t stop smiling.”

Thank you for sharing your day with us, so lovely to see brides go with their instincts and keep things personal. Beautiful!
