Orchestrated Chaos – Floral Design by Vervain

Photography by India HobsonFloral Design by Vervain

Sometimes you meet people in the wedding industry who’s work is a breath of fresh air and who’s talent shines through. Having seen in person, the floral artistry work of Vervain at A Most Curious Wedding Fair I was just so drawn to owner India Hurst’s style and also her ethos that I wanted to share this with you on the blog.

Vervain is a flower studio specialising in creating unique floristry; orchestrated chaos. With a background in art and design and horticulture, I think India combines natural beauty with a creative eye to create unique floral styling. Designs are tailored to each couple’s style and are suited to those who appreciate how flowers can enhance their aesthetic and express their personality through the atmosphere of their wedding.

Asymmetric Floral Inspiration

I’m seeing a huge floral trend at the moment for bouquets and floral displays that are unusually structured. Gone are the days of symmetry it’s all about interesting silhouettes, differing heights and shapes all making an asymmetric floral statement. It gives a really natural, wild feel and the textures are brought to life by the colours and differing sizes of the flower heads.

Here are a few of my favourites…

Jemma Keech / Green Wedding Shoes / Once Wed

The Pretty Blog / Ruffled / Style Me Pretty

Dandelion Ranch via Apartment Therapy

I particularly love these lop-sided arrangements. Do you like the wild and unkempt look or do you prefer your florals to be a little more formal and perhaps structured?
