An unusual ‘Tropical Victorian Themed’ Wedding and Rime Arodaky wedding dress for couple Tracy and Chris at The Asylum and Horniman Museum South London.
One of our favourite spots for a ceremony in London, the atmospheric Asylum Chapelin Peckham followed by an elegant ‘tropical’ styled reception at the beautiful Horniman Museum conservatory with it’s amazing vista over London from Forest Hill, South London.
Tracy and Chris were married in July last year, and we love this couple’s personal style and how they’ve injected their own fashion into the bridal outfits. We’re big big fans of bridal separates or two pieces, and Tracy’s very figure flattering choice of Pennington skirt and Caplan top by Rime Arodaky looks seriously cool, feminine and modern. We love how she’s teamed it with a statement fashion forward headpiece by designer Luna Bea and I think we’ll be seeing much more statement headwear on 2017 brides to come!
A mention has to go to the super cool flower girl in her bespoke House of Hackney fabric outfit. How fabulous does she look and so fitting for this ‘Tropical Victorian’ themed wedding which was even translated into the reception venue from the florals to the food and even the gin!
There’s no denying that we’ve all gone a bit green fingered lately and bringing more of the outdoors into our lives. As Pantone announced their 2017 colour of the year is ‘Greenery’ it is definitely carrying through to weddings, and this beautiful Autumn wedding beautifully styled with green details showcases why.
Greenery works perfectly for weddings as Pantone explains, “Greenery is nature’s neutral. The more submerged people are in modern life, the greater their innate craving to immerse themselves in the physical beauty and inherent unity of the natural world.”
The greens in all their shades are so cohesive and complimentary to the more wood-styled venues, and the couple’s style, and Melissa’s bouquet by The Flower Bird is one of my favourites I think in all it’s Autumn, green, wild foliage glory, just stunning!
It’s so great to see the fabulous Isere skirt from Charlie Brear on a bride and it looks like it was made for bride Melissa and this wedding day. Can you imagine how fun it is shimmying around in that!? Once again, fabulous groom inspiration in this real wedding from a very well dressed groom Ben who sourced all his outfit in London – a true London Groom!
I really like how this wedding shows how you can style your day simply through colours, tones, fashion and details. The venues are both quite atmospheric with their wood decorated spaces which work so well with the natural greens chosen by the couple. I often meet couples who are worried their venue is too dark or too detailed, but this shows you can really inject a lot of style from details from the flowers, shoes, suits, cake and stationery and green is perfect for that.
I have to warn you this is a long image post, because I found it so difficult to edit (captured so well by Miss Gen) as it is all just so beautiful and let’s face it, a ridiculously gorgeous and stylish couple radiating joy. I hope whether you’re a new reader or a long-term London Bride fan, you enjoy this wedding!
Crispy sunny spring skies for this elegant wedding at Sunbeam Studios in West London. The female guests all sported fascinators and with a ‘chic and glamorous’ dress code chosen by the couple Victoria and Will, this is one stylish and sophisticated wedding day.
Draping foliage and watercolour details for an urban oasis summer in the city wedding for Crisa and Gareth’s, planned and styled by London Bride.
I’m so pleased to share one of my favourite London Bride weddings of last year. I worked with Crisa and Gareth to plan and style their urban summer wedding at MC Motors last July. Despite a fairly limited timescale to pull things together, we collaborated with a team of amazing suppliers for a beautiful summery day in the city for the couple, creating an urban oasis full of foliage and florals, pretty paper details, delicious food and drink as well as unique personal touches throughout. The day was captured perfectly by the amazing Chloe at Caught The Light (who’s stunning film photography really did make it look like the mediterranean!) and was also previously featured on Style Me Pretty.
A bride in leather and lace, lego buttonholes and an 80s band for this fun and quirky couple – Gwen & Li-Hur’s playful yet elegant Claridge’s wedding.
Part of being a wedding planner is working with some pretty amazing clients, and in some amazing places. Well Gwen and Li-Hur’s wedding was both of these for me. Whilst we had the elegance and luxury backdrop of London’s iconic Claridge’s for the day, this couple loved quirky details, so injected their personalities into the day for their guests to enjoy, with fun touches such as the buttonholes by Fairy Nuff Flowers that were tied with a lego figure, the 80’s evening band that filled the dance floor and the fact that Gwen decided to wear her amazing green leather jacket over her stunning Monique Lhuillier gown for a leather and lace look, all made for a gorgeous spring wedding.
