If you’re a fan of food, florals and boho style, then the Hackney wedding of Khaly and Martin ticks all those boxes and some. A beautiful boho bride, floral bridesmaids, afternoon tea and a dessert table that Mary Berry would be proud of.
I think it goes without saying that Khaly’s bridal style is effortless, boho elegance at it’s finest. The original vintage 70s off the shoulder layered lace gown is relaxed but feminine and with her dark flowing locks, soft metallic eyes and that incredible headpiece by Joanna Reed she looks every inch the perfect boho bride with her dashing groom in blue. Not to mention her girls looking fair maids in their floor length dark floral dresses (from Marks and Spencer’s would you believe, just goes to show keep your mind open!),
The super cool boho chic backdrop of photographic location The Roost in Hackney was not only a local venue for them, but one that complimented this couple’s style perfectly. Ending the night with a DJ dance party in the basement and a pizza van is a pretty good way to see the evening out I say.
Also worth noting to anyone thinking about speeches, and how you imagine they’ll be a few minutes each at the most, as these guys prove, they can go on for over an hour so you might want to keep that in mind! Sounds like they were worth every minute.
El and Darren had a cool, relaxed wedding at Tanner Warehouse in Bermondsey. A very stylish couple, with the bride designing her own wedding dress!
My first thought when I was blogging this wedding was, hmm a couple of those guests look a little bit familiar. Ever get that? Well, as it happens the bridesmaid and best man are in fact some friends I’ve met through the other half so whatdayaknow. Small world, and hi to Lucy & Sam if they’re reading this!
My second thought was wow, LOVE the bride’s dress – the neckline, silhouette and back detail are super striking and unusual, so I hurriedly skimmed my eyes through the credits in the submission form only to realise that in fact the bride designed it herself. SKILLS.
It’s no mean feat designing your own wedding dress I’m sure (not that I would know, but how on earth can you even start the process?) but bride El with her background in Fashion, did just that and what an amazing creation. High five to this super talented creative bride, and bridesmaid Lucy who designed their dresses too.
My third thought was, I love these photographs from Lisa Jane Photography. A lovely capture of a cool, relaxed London wedding, so I hope you do to…
Vanessa and Anthony had a memorable ceremony near to where they got engaged at The National Theatre and a relaxed reception at 06 St Chad’s.
This is a gorgeous wedding, which has such a beautiful relaxed feel to it. Vanessa’s bridal style is vintage inspired with her stunning antique lace dress and modern vintage shoes. As a Spring wedding it’s so fun to see bright colours used in the floral details in the flowers.
Lovely how they incorporated their story of meeting each other into the day by choosing venues that were near to where their story met, and now they have added more wonderful new memories there too.
