A behind the scenes look at the London Bride & Otaduy Bridal special bridal showcase last month. We were thrilled to invite readers and brides to this intimate event to try on dresses and chat and be inspired by some of our wedding industry friends!
Part of why I love working in this industry is getting the chance to work and collaborate with like-minded, creative and modern thinking wedding colleagues. It pushes the industry in the right direction and just bouncing ideas, inspiration and swopping stories is really refreshing.
Having been a fan of Barcelona bridal designers, Otaduy and their gorgeous London showroom, we decided to collaborate and hold an intimate bridal event to showcase their new collection, meet with brides (and readers of London Bride!) and also to introduce them to some fabulous wedding brands, suppliers, designers and makers. It was so much fun to see bride’s try on potential contender dresses, with their friends and family with the added fun of trying on veils, shoes, holding a beautiful bouquet as well as be made-up all whilst in a relaxing and intimate atmosphere with delicious and cute mini bottles of sparkling wine courtesy of Cordoniu and refreshing and stylish hydration from Solan de Cabras. Definitely the way dress shopping should be!
As a wedding planner and blogger, it’s also really lovely for me to connect with bride-to-be’s to hear about their days and their styles and wedding inspiration and of course talking all about dresses!
Otaduy showcased their new ‘I Do’ collection, which you can see more of here but is inspired by the glamorous days of disco, and free-spirited style… Otaduy has a lovely balance of feminine dresses and cool separates (plus jackets!) that are for a modern boho bride and are perfect for both a city wedding or something a little more rural. We had a lovely mix of brides at the event who were getting married in the city, the countryside and a few destination weddings too (lucky them!).
London Bride and bridal designer, Otaduy are holding a special one day showcase event for brides-to-be in London on Saturday 17th September for their ‘I Do’ collection. Come join us!
Today we have an exciting announcement about an upcoming event! We’ve teamed up with one of our favourite designers, stylish Barcelona bridal designer, Otaduy Bridal, for a special showcase event on Saturday 17th September of their new ‘I DO’ collection. As well as being able to see the dresses (and try them on!) I’ll be there to meet some of you lovely London Brides-To-Be and be on hand for any one-to-one styling or planning advice.
The showcase takes place at their beautiful London showroom near Camden (NW1 9XR) with myself and the super friendly Otaduy team there to welcome you, and not only will you be surrounded by beautiful bridal gowns, we’ve partnered with some of our industry friends to create a relaxed and inspiring setting with bubbles a plenty, pretty floral displays, delicious treats from the Canababes as well as accessories such as veils and shoes for you to style with the dresses.
THIS IS A VIP EVENT FOR ONE DAY ONLY SO THERE ARE LIMITED SPACES, IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO COME ALONG, PLEASE REGISTER YOUR INTEREST TO ATTEND BY EMAILING: LONDON@OTADUY.CO
For now, here is a little look at their ‘I Do’ collection, glamorous days of disco, and free-spirited style…
Spanish bridal label Otaduy opened their new showroom in London this month. With white leather jackets, open back dresses and crop tops with skirts, they offer a refreshing and new take on bridal for the modern and boho bride.
Having worked in the wedding industry for over 6 years now, it’s such a pleasure to hear about fresh and exciting launches, especially those in London (obvs!). A couple of weeks ago I was lucky enough to be invited to visit the beautiful new showroom of Otaduy, a Spanish bridal design label who have just launched in London.
Having chatted to the very lovely sisters behind the label (at quite some length, they really are lovely), it’s clear Otaduy which started back in 2011, is no ordinary bridal label, and definitely re-inventing the term ‘bridal’. It’s core values are creativity – heavily inspired by music, cinema and art – and as such this is an indie brand for brides with personality who want to feel like themselves on their wedding day.
I stumbled across this beautiful shoot by photographer Miguel Varona and just wanted to share the beauty of it all with you. Although based in Spain, Miguel wanted to come to the UK to do a bridal shoot with the romance of a forest, dappling light, historical buildings, little bridges and winding rivers. I forget sometimes how lucky us English inhabitants are to have these elements in spades.
Although based in Spain, Miguel travelled to London [yes, this is London people!] and the shoot took place at the picturesque West London setting of Chiswick House Gardens [ps you can get married there]. Miguel is a fine art film photographer and I just love the ethereal elegance to these images and the stunning style of a flame haired beauty.
The shoot was in collaboration with the beautiful wedding dress designer Otaduy, “Our collections are designed to celebrate a special date or any date that deserves to be celebrated. We take inspiration from moments like these -snapshots that remain- and also from those little things we enjoy doing such as taking an espresso in a glass cup, wearing red lipstick to go to the cinema or riding a bike while listening to music on a mild spring night.”
Miguel is a Spanish wedding photographer working throughout Europe and specialises in destination weddings, do check out more of his beautiful work and many thanks to him and all the team on this shoot for letting me share this on London Bride.
