Laura and Alex had a summery relaxed Islington ‘London’ focussed wedding with a Town Hall ceremony and restaurant reception, with the bride in a stunning peachy pink wedding dress!
Couple Laura and Alex had a perfectly relaxed summer’s day wedding in Islington for their day in August. Starting at Islington Town Hall for their ceremony they then took some time out for some portraits in the nearby streets with their photographer Gen. We adore bride Laura’s peachy pink Needle & Thread wedding dress, and think Alex makes an equally dashing groom in his bespoke Alexandra Wood suit!
We love the capture of all the little looks during the ceremony and those of the couple with their little girl as a family, so cute! The little touches during the day from the tube themed tables to the mixed CD’s were lovely ways to personalise their restaurant reception, and I just have to mention that wedding cheese cake…it looks amazing and I imagine the guests enjoyed tucking into that!
Cora and Michael had a wedding combining the traditions of the East and West at the Landmark London followed by an amazing Chinese Banquet reception, which customary to tradition, the bride wore a number of wedding dresses too!
I absolutely love the contrast of a grand and elegant traditional London ceremony at a luxury hotel with portraits of the couple nearby, with the relaxed reception at the couple’s favourite Chinese restaurant. I’m not surprised Cora couldn’t decide between her two wedding dresses, she looks just stunning in both and have to say, why not wear two?! In fact she did much more and went on to have 5 further outfit changes, including the incredible red traditional Chinese suit which I have to say might be my favourite. The hand embroidery and detail is just incredible and they really do ‘pop’ in the beautiful photography by Sarah Gawler (do check out her beautiful new website!).
For any brides planning an elegant London wedding, then this should be all the inspiration you need! Libby and Ben were married in September last year, and it encompasses everything a sophisticated London wedding is about.
From the meaningful Church ceremony to a ride in a white London cab, to the relaxed but grand setting of Home House it was a picture perfect day captured by Caught The Light.
Libby’s style is sophisticated and feminine in her Georgia by Jenny Packham dress, and Ben looks smart and relaxed in his beautiful blue suit. I love that you can still see little pieces of confetti in Libby’s hair throughout the day, the perfect ‘just married’ memento!
I love the slightly undone flowers by The Flower Appreciation Society against the more decadent backdrop of the venue, and the little details in their stationery, the delicious looking naked cake, to the canapés (those mini fish and chips!!) were well thought-through and all tied in beautifully to the day.
After planning a ‘big wedding’ Michael and Ashleigh re-evaluated their plans and chose to have a secret little London elopement on Christmas Eve. Utterly romantic, despite the rain they said ‘I Do’ at Old Chelsea Town Hall followed by enjoying an evening at The Rosewood Hotel for lobster, jazz and cocktails.
There is just something so incredibly romantic and heartwarming about today’s real wedding (complete with umbrella, how typically ‘London’), and it’s such a pleasure to share Michael and Ashleigh’s incredibly intimate day.
It’s not an uncommon story to hear of couples who are planning for a traditional ‘big’ wedding but find during this time the pressure, stress, politics and even finance perhaps all too much and they question their wedding plans. For couples who are quite private people, who may worry about being centre stage an elopement or simple wedding ceremony with just the two of you makes complete sense and that’s just what Michael and Ashleigh chose.
It’s a reminder to us all to not get carried away by what others do, or what we think we should do – and that to be truly happy means being yourselves on your wedding day, whatever way that is. Plus, look how gorgeous, relaxed and happy they are, it clearly was the best decision they made!
I love that on Christmas day they were able to tell their families they were married! What a wonderful Christmas present…
Tom and Eve had a fun and relaxed pub wedding after their town hall ceremony in Stoke Newington. I love bride Eve’s slightly 60s style with her dashing groom and pretty maid all perfectly paired. They added some lovely fun touches such as pom poms, balloons and lights to the pub to ‘prettify’ their pub ‘knees up’.
A cool, contemporary Sunbeam Studios wedding for Katy and Simon. Ombre pink hair, a Charlie Brear dress and a Sunday Roast feast for this unique and meaningful Jew-Ish celebration with neon pink details.
I’m so pleased to finally be featuring this fabulous modern wedding today that I planned last summer. Katy and Simon were a cool, contemporary couple and I love that this wedding reflects that in every detail. From the meaningful ‘Jew-Ish’ ceremony, to Katy’s amazing ombre pink hair to the roast dinner feast (despite it being August) and the first dance in trainers it was so great working with them as they put their personalities into every element of the day for their Sunbeam Studios wedding.
A bride in leather and lace, lego buttonholes and an 80s band for this fun and quirky couple – Gwen & Li-Hur’s playful yet elegant Claridge’s wedding.
Part of being a wedding planner is working with some pretty amazing clients, and in some amazing places. Well Gwen and Li-Hur’s wedding was both of these for me. Whilst we had the elegance and luxury backdrop of London’s iconic Claridge’s for the day, this couple loved quirky details, so injected their personalities into the day for their guests to enjoy, with fun touches such as the buttonholes by Fairy Nuff Flowers that were tied with a lego figure, the 80’s evening band that filled the dance floor and the fact that Gwen decided to wear her amazing green leather jacket over her stunning Monique Lhuillier gown for a leather and lace look, all made for a gorgeous spring wedding.
