A stylish autumn Town Hall Hotel wedding ceremony with a reception at Hawksmoor with a Charlie Brear bride, perfectly suited for Pantone’s colour of the year 2017, ‘Greenery’.

There’s no denying that we’ve all gone a bit green fingered lately and bringing more of the outdoors into our lives. As Pantone announced their 2017 colour of the year is ‘Greenery’ it is definitely carrying through to weddings, and this beautiful Autumn wedding beautifully styled with green details showcases why.

Greenery works perfectly for weddings as Pantone explains, “Greenery is nature’s neutral. The more submerged people are in modern life, the greater their innate craving to immerse themselves in the physical beauty and inherent unity of the natural world.”

The greens in all their shades are so cohesive and complimentary to the more wood-styled venues, and the couple’s style, and Melissa’s bouquet by The Flower Bird is one of my favourites I think in all it’s Autumn, green, wild foliage glory, just stunning!

It’s so great to see the fabulous Isere skirt from Charlie Brear on a bride and it looks like it was made for bride Melissa and this wedding day. Can you imagine how fun it is shimmying around in that!? Once again, fabulous groom inspiration in this real wedding from a very well dressed groom Ben who sourced all his outfit in London – a true London Groom!

I really like how this wedding shows how you can style your day simply through colours, tones, fashion and details. The venues are both quite atmospheric with their wood decorated spaces which work so well with the natural greens chosen by the couple. I often meet couples who are worried their venue is too dark or too detailed, but this shows you can really inject a lot of style from details from the flowers, shoes, suits, cake and stationery and green is perfect for that.

I have to warn you this is a long image post, because I found it so difficult to edit (captured so well by Miss Gen) as it is all just so beautiful and let’s face it, a ridiculously gorgeous and stylish couple radiating joy. I hope whether you’re a new reader or a long-term London Bride fan, you enjoy this wedding!

Borough Market Colourful London Wedding, A Jenny Packham Bride, Maid To Measure Bridesmaids. Photography by Babb Photo

Today’s wedding has to be a perfect example of a London wedding! Bride and groom Anna and Dil were married with a Catholic ceremony, followed by a walk down the Southbank with their guests, bubbles and dancing aboard a boat down the Thames, then a hearty British feast followed by late night fun. Bride Anna also chose the most beautifully sparkling Jenny Packham ‘Gemma” tea length gown (one of my favourites!) and bridesmaids in fun Maids To Measure floral print dresses and cheery bright florals from Wild About set the decor off perfectly.

Gemma + Matt – Savile Club Chic London Wedding

WEDDINGS, Elegant, Urban

Of course I may be biased but I do love a city chic wedding, and you can’t beat Mayfair’s The Savile Club for decadence and style. This stylish couple had a beautiful city Church ceremony at St James in Clerkenwell, followed by a fine feast at the private member’s club and then it was the guests turn to play DJ and hit the decks as well as the dancefloor – with a  ‘Stick It On’ party, all captured by lovely photographer Eliza Claire. Now that sounds like my kind of fun…

In keeping with the glamorous city style, Gemma chose a simple chic but feminine ‘Swan’ Delphine Manivet dress which I love the bow back detail of “I wanted to create a look that would be modern and stylish in keeping with a London Wedding. Also the reception venue was so ornate I felt the dress needed to be quite simple in silhouette”. Those amazing killer studded heels are Valentino and the bridesmaids wore navy lace dresses from Whistles and shoes designed by one of the bridesmaids, Carla…. ummm wow!

Gemma and Matthew decided on a decadent and glamorous city wedding “We wanted to get married in London because we have lived here for the last 16 years and it is such an amazing city. We chose the Savile Club because its such a beautiful and decadent venue and relatively unknown. The Ballroom is very French in feel, it looks like a mini Palace of Versailles with ornate mirrored doors and sparkling chandeliers, but the bar and dancing area has a traditional oak paneled Gentleman’s club feel so you can create a different mood for each part of the day.”

I love the simple hand-scripted style black and white designs of the stationery; from the orders of service to the table plan above which were all designed by the clever and creative groom.

Meadowy flowers by the fantastic Scarlet and Violet added some beautiful colour to the bouquets and a relaxed feel to the venue on the tables “As the reception venue is very ornate and grand we wanted the decorations to have a relaxed fun feel. We both love balloons so had huge bunches dotted around the venue and introduced a personal touch through the ‘Matty ‘hearts’ Gemma’ flags from Etsy.”

The guests were treated to a feast on the eyes as well as the stomach! “We are both big foodies and also very visual people so wanted the food to look beautiful as well as tasting delicious. My favourite dish was the starter which was a beetroot risotto with edible flowers.”   They also chose a beautiful ‘naked’ style Victoria sponge cake with fresh fruit by Maisie Fantaisaie.

I love Gemma and Matt’s first dance song choice (a favourite of mine from the film ‘My Girl’) – ‘I only have eyes for you’ by The Flamingos. In the evening the party got started as the bride and groom took to the decks themselves! “We also had a ‘Stick it on’ for the evening which turned all the guests into D.J’s . It was so much fun and got everyone involved. It was brilliant to see our parents behind the decks! The dance floor was packed all night and it was amazing to hear the tunes our guests had selected.”

I did “attempt” to learn to DJ when at uni so I would have loved this concept of choosing your own songs to play in the evening. I love the below shots of the bride and groom spinning some ‘chooooons’…

Special Moment…

“Seeing everyone we love brought together. Driving around London in a Morris Minor with total strangers smiling and waving at us and my Dad’s speech – it was so lovely!”

Congratulations Matt and Gemma on a super chic day and best wishes on becoming Mr and Mrs! Thanks to the lovely Eliza Claire for letting me share this gorgeous day.
